Celebrating Olim : Yom HaAliyah

Happy Aliyah Day!

Naomie Nakache, Kav L’Noar’s French Olim Coordinator was invited to participate in the Knesset’s celebration of Aliyah Day. Yom HaAliyah (Aliyah Day) (יום העלייה‎‎) is the newest Israeli national holiday.

Dr. Avraham Negosa, a member of the Knesset, chairman of the Committee for Immigration, Absorption and Diaspora Affairs, directed the event.  At this special and festive session, the committee of immigration and absorption, discussed the unique contribution that immigrants bring to the state, mainly in the field of economy and culture. The important contribution of Olim was noted as an essential key to the development of the State of Israel. In addition, the progress that has been made in the legislation surrounding the absorption of immigrants, and the recognition of diplomas and degrees was noted. At the same time, some of the MKs mentioned  the additional work that remains for the State of Israel in this area. They also spoke about the significant work of the non-profit organizations that support immigrants from around the world.

The event was honored by the attendance of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Minister of Immigration and Absorption, Mrs. Sofa Landwer, Speaker of the Knesset, Mr. Yuli Edelstein and Chairman of the Jewish Agency Mr. Natan Sharansky.

Kav L’Noar offers support on many different levels to  new and veteran Olim and native Israeli young adults, teens, tweens and their families.  Kav L’Noar is the connection between youth, family, school and community. Our counseling and mentoring programs work together with the family to build trust and help them develop and create an environment that promotes growth and resilience for each individual family member.   Our early intervention and prevention programs are highly effective in preventing long term serious and complicated problems in the future.

We congratulate all Olim new and old, chadashim and vatikim- all those who left their communities outside of Israel and made the decision to come on  Aliyah and build a new life in Israel.
