CLINICAL SERVICES
Kav L’Noar offers comprehensive on site therapeutic services to families with children between the ages of 10 and 18 who are experiencing emotional or behavioral difficulties. Our clinical staff consists of therapists with masters degrees in family therapy, social work and educational psychology. All of the therapists are bilingual and have many years of experience in the field both in Israel and elsewhere. We view families as systems and work with parts or the whole dependent on what is needed in each situation. As such we provide individual, family and marital therapy. All sessions are strictly confidential. The therapy is provided in our offices usually once a week. Fees for service are based on a sliding scale. Office hours vary by therapist with time generally available Sundays through Thursdays from 9 am to 8pm.
INTAKE AND ASSESSMENT
As a first step, parents meet with a therapist to share their family history and their current concerns. At a later time, the therapist meets with the child about whom the parents are concerned. The therapist also calls the school and other treatment providers when applicable to further clarify the functioning of the child. Our goal during this process is to begin developing an understanding of the family, what brings them to us, and how we might best be of assistance. At the same time, we are beginning to form a relationship that will help all of us work successfully together.
This is our initial process for all families requesting service, whether they are requesting therapy or mentoring. At the end of the intake evaluation, the therapist and the family will discuss which service seems more appropriate, and how next to proceed.
GOALS
Our goal as an agency is to strengthen families by reducing stress, being supportive and empowering individual family members and the family as a whole. Individuals and families come to us with a broad range of issues from something mild and transitory to something more serious and chronic. KLN views each family situation as unique and provides the appropriate assistance for as long as required.
